2007's almost over and most probably, everybody's ticking the boxes off their year's to-do list or commonly known as New Year's resolutions. If you've been just using the most popular method of earning money from your website or blog the whole year through, it's high time to think of another way to get something in return from your hard work.
Have you ever considered other ways to make money online aside from waiting for visitors to click your ads? I mean having direct sponsors through content subscription and services like quarterly reports, paid job listing or paid consultation reports?
It's one of my goals next year to explore these types of Internet money making opportunities. It will definitely be more tedious but it's nice to take on a new challenge every now and then.
I've noticed that more and more blog owners are considering consultancy and paid content since the distribution of the teaser report from Brian Clark's Teaching Sells, an e-course on building membership sites. It's nothing new since many have been doing it already. But Brian did shed a nice light on this method.
Building membership sites is not an easy task and requires the important step of building reputation first before acquiring "a list." However, it can be more lucrative if you hit the sweet spot.
What's your take on this? Ever tried building a membership site?
