If you haven’t been receiving much revenues as you expect from your Adsense ads, maybe you need a format makeover of your own or Google's making to turn your woes into profit.
For their loyal customers, Google shows a bit more leniency on formatting rules. They now allow you to make minor font changes with your ads. They’re not much, but something is better than nothing.
But that’s not all. Reports have been making rounds about the changes Google is considering making regarding their Adsense ad formats to further improve performance. At New York’s Citigroup Technology Conference, comments from Google’s speakers indicate a highly likely chance we’ll be seeing more image and video advertisements in the future. People should start thinking now if they’ll benefit more from this new format, if it does push through.
To better gauge the effectiveness of Google video ads, one only has to look at YouTube for an example. Although there are still no hard profit figures able to justify Google’s purchase of the video-streaming site, results from its latest experiments are showing are beginning to look positive.
This time, Google has decided to match its ads with the videos. Viewers may either click or ignore the ads since they’re programmed to disappear in ten seconds. If they choose to click, the video they’re originally watching will be automatically put on hold while the video ad’s played.
According to Google and the companies that had tested its newest ad format, “more people are clicking”.
If your ad isn’t doing well with text-based content, who knows if you’ll have better luck with image and video content?
