
No Web 2.0 isn't dead yet. This is what the new owner of AuctionAds, Media Whiz, has proven through their new ad designs.
For those who were not a fan of the previous designs of the AuctionAds ads, you might just change your mind now because aside from the new Web 2.0 ad creatives, they're said to be more optimized now.![]()
However, there are still some qualms about them such as John Chow's:
While I am interested in finding out how the new AuctionAds ad units will perform, their non-standard sizing forces me to use the old banners. The old ads allow for a much higher level of customization. I have controls over the border, background, heading, description and link colors. The “New & Improved” format offers very limited customization.
Do you have the same sentiment as John's? If so, maybe it will again take a while before the more customizeable AuctionAds ads get rolled out.
I wonder when will AdSense provide more Web 2.0 appeal to their ads. The rounded corners are wee bit shy of the in-your-face Web 2.0 feel that I'd like to see.
