Responsible content producers know that hotlinking is a big no-no when it comes to borrowing images. But what if the person who hotlinked to your image is just too stubborn or just too lazy to use the "right-click-and-save" option?
One comment on Char Polanosky's post about "What to Do About Hotlinked Images" shared a naughty and yet ingenious way of dealing with hotlinkers:
My wife has an art web site, and we always check the logs for “hotlinkers”.
Then we simply replace that image with a friendly Text-ad of her website (i.e. Go to www.eatfair.com for more pictures), so we get free instant ads!
We always try to use compassion before revenge. - Jimson Lee.
Hey, why not? :-D
