Most search engines rank sites using a magical formula that somewhat includes the content's keyword usage and the number of quality inbound links that the blog receives. Its the keywords that you use in your content that spells out the difference between content with relevant info and one with not much relevant info.
Keyword spamming is the last thing you would want to do in making sure that your website gets the traffic that will help in increasing your AdSense earnings.
But there are ways to still let the search engines get involved in driving more traffic to your blog. It's all about the proper positioning (not spamming) of keywords. If you have already done your keyword research, prepare to know more about the use of keywords in optimizing content.
To improve the chances of getting traffic directed to your blog when people use search engines to look for information, here are some keyword positioning tips that you should consider:
- Keywords should be mentioned on the title of your blog post.
- Include the keywords you're aiming your blog post to be found with on the first sentence of the first paragraph of your post, more preferably the first 10 words.
- Mention the relevant keywords in the second, third and other paragraphs. Say if your blog is about weddings and you are writing a post on "wedding favors", mention "cheap wedding favors", "cruise wedding favors", and other derivatives of the keyphrase wedding favors. That is, if you are writing about those kinds of wedding favors to start with. Play with your keyword research results.
- Relevant keywords should be again mentioned in the last paragraph.
This positioning of keywords is more effective if you have a lengthy blog post. The keywords will be mentioned less since there's more explanative discussion going on that will decrease the risk of keyword over-optimization.
Do you have other ways of positioning your keywords strategically? Or do you even use this SEO technique at all?
