However, there are many resources that can help simplify the learning process in understanding how to use your AdSense account page. Matthew Berman, the blogger behind Internet Business Daily, explained the use of the "date range", "show data by", "targeting type", and "sort data by channel or date" options.
I maximize the use of the Advanced Reports part by making sure that I include as many channels (specific web pages) that I'd like to monitor. So, the "manage channels" part is what I work on first before I start viewing whatever option combinations I'd like to look at. Although it's a painstaking process (adding channels), it is very valuable, especially when I think it's time to experiment on new ad placements, formats or ad looks.
Combining these options depending on what date range and whether you'd like to see how your site's channels perform will give you a better view of how else you can tweak your AdSense ads to get better click through rate, consequently improving your AdSense earnings.
