Adsense Tip - Two ads side by side
To increase click through rate, some people uses 2 adsense ads side by side.    A great example is at  dealofday.com

Notice that both ads don't have borders and it is above the fold.   Once people go to this site, their initial focus is directed almost entirely on those 2 ads.  You  have to be careful though as some of your visitors might get annoyed with having 2 ads and they need to scroll down to see the content.

Do a test for about a week and check out if your visitor count is affected.   If it is, then it is probably not a good idea for your site.
